As a former freelance writer for TheGamer, this new pay model is horrendous. Twinfinite ran on a similar pay model, and I only got paid for my work there is $30 for my Team Sonic Racing op-ed. I'm so done with the games media industry. I've been done with it for a while, but this is disrespectful.

On Thursday evening Valnet issued new contracts to writers at TheGamer instituting a minimum article viewership threshold for payment. Most writers already have pay tied to article performance, but this new system would mean that if a piece didn't get X number of clicks you wouldn't be paid for it.

Laying awake thinking about how the PR director and social media manager at Sonic Team personally told me that my article about Sega making a big gamble with Sonic Frontiers was their favorite article of all the Sonic articles I’ve written. If anything, I boosted everyone’s morale.

I had to end the stream early. The Wi-Fi was so unstable it cut my stream off more than once. I didn’t think I would keep without further internet issues. Other than that, I left my physical copy of Astro Bot at my parents’ house. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience.

I had 2.8 average viewers on my Twitch stream today. I hit 3 average viewers twice this month, and I thought I would hit that number again after streaming four hours. I need to get 3 average viewers on my streams at least four times to get Affiliate, but it's proven difficult. What do I do?
