I have DD'ed the guys down to their beer club event & done some grocery shopping. Those who believe things like this are working hard at not understanding the finite options available to someone whose abuser has not been prosecuted, found guilty, etc. by the law. And how rarely those things happen to abusers, esp. high-status white male abusers.

Our favorite TV show! Unashamed fans. We visited the barn where it is created as part of a trip to the Weald & Downland Living Museum in 2024; we own some seasons on DVD b/c for a while that was the only way to access in the US. (We binge on BBC iplayer when in the UK, too.) This is great news!!!

There sure are a lot of different schemers/scammers wanting to help us "reach our goals," "gain visibility and reach readers," and of course "improve [our book's] visibility, and maximize its long term impact." All without knowing anything about our book except its title and my contact number.

We keep a landline because we live on an earthquake fault. It is possible that we could keep landline service even if we lose cell service (or vice-versa, obvs).

I have a landline for emergencies and for when I'm required to give out a phone number for something I don't want to give my phone number for. The landline forwards to a Google Voice account which acts as my messaging machine. I have no physical phone connected to the landline.

Forgot my dental hygiene appointment and had to rush to get there, so I failed to premeditate. Then met friends at the pub, so post-medicated with beer. Picked up dinner from the food truck and came home and had a medicinal cocktail. That’s what retirement looks like.

This evening in the Summer of Rum, we are rum-adjacent. A caipirinha, from Brazil, made with cachaça, a spirit made from fermented sugar cane juice. A favorite!

With Glen Hansard gone now, the line ‘We’ve still got time’ from ‘Falling Slowly’ actually feels painful.
