Synthetic organic chemistry group from Budapest focused on organocatalysis, frustrated Lewis pairs, strained heterocycles and natural product total synthesis. (Student-run) https://www.orgcat.hu/

🏆 Proud moment for our group at this year's Organic Chemistry Problem-Solving Competition (SZKPV) at ELTE TTK! Congratulations to our students 🥇 Szilárd Bercel Varga, 🥇 István Babcsányi, 🥈 Mikes Burkódi, and 🥉 Attila Perényi for their outstanding results. 🧪✨

Today marks 100 years since the birth of Zoltán Hajós!🧪 A true pioneer of asymmetric organocatalysis, his discovery of the Hajós-Parrish reaction using L-proline as an enzyme-mimic was decades ahead of its time, laying the foundation for a field later honored with the 2021 Nobel Prize.✨
