The FSBI Medal Winners session starts with a talk from Colin Adams. Colin, previous President of the FSBI, has been awarded this year's Beverton Medal. Given the FSBI's focus on supporting ECRs, Colin draws on his wealth of experience, with a talk titled "Surviving a career in research" #FSBI2025
This year's FSBI medal is awarded to @mjjuanjorda.bsky.social. Maria talks to us today about what tuna have taught her throughout her career. Some very useful lessons learned and advice for the ECRs in the audience! #FSBI2025
Our final medal award winner is Oliver Crimmen, of the Nautral History Museum (London), who was awarded this year's Le Cren Medal. With over 50 years of experience, some species are now present in the collection but extinct in the wild, which gives much pause for thought #FSBI2025
Check out the editorial for the Special Issue: "Advances in telemetry approaches and technologies applied to fish ecology and management", which sets the scene and rational for this exciting collection of papers. doi.org/10.1111/jfb.... Authors: J. Mourier, T. Murray, R. Lennox, K. Birnie-Gauvin
Great to be here for a week of fish-fuelled symposium fun 🐟🦈
And we're off! #FSBI2025 is in full swing with workshops from Michael Kaiser on publishing with #JFB, as well as Kristy Bradley talking us through the key steps in producing a memorable graphical abstract!
Wow 🤩 what a line up of workshops and sessions - this is going to be epic 👏🦈 (but hard to choose)!
