it really is a shame that for so many people, the only conception they have of a TTRPG is a lord of the rings style party of adventurers getting into fights and exploring dungeons there's *so* much more out there, y'all
Ryan ∀rtPunk (α Mode)@nouveauartpunk.bsky.social · 6mo agoThe depressing thing about a lot of homebrew TTRPG systems is that sadly, most people's conception of a TTRPG begins and ends with D&D, and they'll try desperately to shoehorn mechanics from 5e into their original ideas bc they don't have ability to envision something different or better than 5e.
My #ttrpg Hot Take of the day: Play the game as is BEFORE making changes. See how the game was intended, where the balance rests, and THEN add/change/subtract as needed or wanted. Makes no sense to add/change/remove from a system you haven't tested first.
Recently finished this commission, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. After a long few months of really struggling with art block, it felt good to actually finish something~ #commission #illustration #digitalart #dnd
