I also got to see an early draft of the cover for some related work I did and, chat, I'm excited to show this all off... Soon... Soon...
Well, today I go a look at the cover for some work I did a while back, and chat...its a fucking good cover!

New episode - @tremorpings.itch.io drops by D&Ts to talk Moorcock, gaming, his latest TTRPG release Everdoom, and lots more.
EVERDOOM (Moorcock & RPGs Part XI)
When I’m exposed to a new game like EVERDOOM, whose author, Tremor Pings, states that it is written by Moorcock Fans for Moorcock Fans… then I have to investigate further, because we’re…

My name is Tanya and I am a recovering Vampire Larper. 👋
I've got something in my brain about #ttrpg players and parasocial relationships, but I'm not in the right headspace. We've all witnessed the rise in a parasocial relationship with D&D5e alone, buoyed by Critical Role and a few key others. But that pales in the shadow of Vampire: The Masquerade.
Beavis And Butthead Head Bang: Breaking The Law

EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect today so remember to be an absolute pain in the arse to any service provider who is trying to actively enforce it.
I've never used ChatGPT. If I'm absolutely honest, although I've heard of Claude, I'm not 100% sure what it is. I've never knowingly used an #AI tool. To me, this post reads like 'If pre-sliced cheese was suddenly banned, would you even know how to slice cheese manually?'
Guys like this don’t realize that they are the freak
Fascism wants us to be cut off from one another. The first thing Trump did in his first term was to attack the postal service. Brexit was about isolation and making it harder to know our neighbours and live well.
No small business can do this. No small business can afford this. This was no longer a choice, or an option. The latest PPWR is the final nail in the coffin. Here you can see a breakdown of the unreasonable bureaucracy expected of us. We'll miss you, Europe.
Fascists are organised. Get fucking organised too.
Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.
never thought short form video would be able to capture a type of humor i can only describe as “the far side-esque” but this comes close.
When did "Don't speak ill of the dead" shift from asking someone to not cause a scene at a private funeral to the need to scold others for being happy when a bigot dies?
You see, the "gender critical" movement do not actually object to the use of puberty blockers in the case of precocious puberty (their largest use on children, often at a much younger age), so it's not a medical issue they have, it's an ideological one.
The "gender critical" movement are not appealing their loss in their fight to stop the puberty blocker trial. The "irreversible harm" James is talking about here is people being trans. That's it. Helen Joyce said it clearly, even if trans people say they are happy they consider them to be "harmed."
You might read this and think it doesn't seem simple, but the difference is just experience. Read more ttrpgs, and more varied rpgs, and run your games. Time will teach you how to read a game and understand what the important parts are to you and, crucially, your players. AI robs you of this craft.
One of the best DnD campaigns I ever ran used one A4 sheet of paper for notes, the default GM screen, and a whiteboard plus some generic tokens for complex combat. It for three years and my group still say it's one of the best campaigns they've been a part of. It's really not that complicated!
like, you're not beholden to "humanity", so you can do radically anti-humanist things, such as change your body how you wish, sympathize with animals, historicize the movement of human institutions, and solidarity by mode of conscious will rather than nationalistic or familial obligation. it's neat
"I don't understand why you, a fantasy writer, don't appreciate the value of making bargains with the fae."
Every now and then someone takes a run at me along the lines of "I don't understand why you, a scifi writer, don't appreciate 'AI'," and I'm all, motherfucker, it's *because* I'm a science fiction writer I have the positions I have, how many times do we have to fucking yell "torment nexus," my dude

Scotland’s largest university has turned to Nous Group at the same time as it is making savings that could lead to nearly 2,000 job losses. Staff say they were misled about the extent of its work.

There seems to be this assumption that being a fan of a thing means you want more stuff related to that thing to be made. And I know it's true for some fans but I don't think it's always true. Some people might just want to enjoy the thing they like in peace.

Thanks to @darkforestpress.bsky.social I've started the new Ghost in the Shell series. As someone completely gutted there was no SAC S03*, the new show is super FUN high pace action. (* sub-videogame CGI cutscene animation married to a terrible script; turned off almost right away)
During the first dotcom boom, there was a website called Jewhoo (after Yahoo) where you could type in someone's name and the website would tell you if they were Jewish. The tone was affectionate and celebratory of Jewish successes. Then the Nazis started using the website, and they shut it down.
