TODAY'S EVENT CANCELLED! Good morning all! With the Amber weather warning still in place this morning & the weather looking to get worse between 0800-0900 we have taken the decision to cancel today’s event to ensure the safety of our volunteers & participants See you next week!

Busy day today welcoming many neighbours from Burgess parkrun and other tourists, with 632 runners and walkers and 32 volunteers - thank you! 140 participants were new to Southwark, 39 were new to parkrun, and milestones included Vicky's 400th!

We had 619 fabulous finishers today, ably assisted by 42 amazing volunteers, thank you, and welcome to all the first timers! Next week (10th May) sees the return of pacing week, with Wapping Running Club supplying a fabulous team of volunteers! Pacers from 19 to 40 minutes 🏃‍♀️

Did you know that you don't have to be a runner to benefit from parkrun? We welcome walkers every week, and volunteering is even more fun - currently this week we're on the lookout for marshals, funnel managers and number checkers. Drop us a line southwark@parkrun.com

It may have been below zero this morning, but 37 amazing volunteers put on a lovely event for 537 participants on a sunny winter's morning 😎 Thank you to the police for coming along to engage with the community and mark so many bikes 👮 To volunteer next week please email southwark@parkrun.com

We had over 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ people at Southwark parkrun yesterday for our chilly 500th event (486 finishers and 33 volunteers) Overall, over 31,000 different people have run or walked our event in that time, and 1,500 people have volunteered 🏃‍♀️🚶‍♂️🦺 Thank you to everyone involved! 🙏 #loveparkrun
