As part of what we say was “preventing a genocide”, we handed 100,000 people to the Nazis. Who were very nice to all of them.

Article 5 stated: "The Red Army will help German forces destroy Polish units where requested, as German units withdraw from areas within the agreed Soviet allocation zone" This kind of article 5 is ok...

Written agreements between the USSR and other countries cease to exist when the other country ceases to exist. Conversely, verbal promises between the USSR and another country are binding on the other country if the USSR ceases to exist.
It is true that we defeated Nazism, but we are a nation that honors its treaties, and we want to make it very clear that if we had not been betrayed by Hitler, we would have fought alongside them on the Axis side, because that is what allies do.
