I'm actually seriously shocked that this was a line in the sand for them
Zacharia: We have asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign. She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well.
Progressives need to stop pointing out pronouns in response to the "I don't do pronouns" set. It's old and kinda pedantic. You know it means the speaker refuses to accept another person's stated pronouns that don't align with what they perceive to be their gender. Address that directly.
I have multiple devices alerting me about things like texts and emails and I swear they all sound off at different times
I feel like this anti-trans wave harmed way more cis women who don't look traditionally feminine than it has helped women from being attacked by men in women's spaces
They're televising the execution of a guy named Hasan. I'm shocked.
Brutal fascist dictatorship blood lust by the USA. "The practice of filming and releasing video of an execution is more common with terror groups like the Islamic State... Mass shooters have in some cases broadcast their killing sprees on livestream sites." www.nytimes.com/2026/10/08/u...

Hours later, Trump posts that the US has just had “productive talks” with Iran and announced the US will not attack Iran before the midterms.
Yeah, the US criminally prosecuting foreign heads of state, in a US court, for alleged violations of US law, seems highly suspect, especially when they would not have been on US soil if they hadn't been kidnapped and brought here www.nytimes.com/2026/10/08/n...

Typical GOP heartlessness: If it doesn't affect me or my interests directly and personally, I don't care. Even if what we're talking about is the death of millions of US citizens.
Tillis on Trump musing about LA and San Diego being nuked: "If it was said about Charlotte or Raleigh, I'd be really mad"
Leaked audio of Michigan Republican Sen. candidate Mike Rogers mocking Americans struggling with skyrocketing prices: "Oh my gosh, coffee went up. You know, horror!"
Wow, with the midterms this close I'd really like to donate to the Democratic Party, but gosh golly, I can't seem to find a link or something to do that through
GOP: We need to protect women from men trying to get into women's restrooms! Also GOP, re Cornell rapes: [crickets]
GOP: Look out! If we don't do something, Muslims will impose SHARIA LAW in the US! Also GOP: All US laws should be based on imposing our view of Christianity on the rest of the country, from abortion to school prayer to homosexuality
Just noticed, are we back to airing video and audio of Tr*mp now? Did he reinstate the press passes he revoked? It was kind of nicely quiet when he didn't keep showing up in my feed with autoplay.

How is it that so many of the "thought influencers" that I follow on LI turn out to be political conservatives?
A year ago, @propublica.org told you immigration agents had detained more than 170 U.S. citizens. We’ve updated our count, and we’ve got all the receipts. The tally: At least 506 citizens detained. Sometimes held at gunpoint, handcuffed, or even deported. projects.propublica.org/american-cit...

Amused that the NYT obit of Jim Bakker has closed the comments after a little over an hour and 387 comments, almost 100% of which were about what an awful person he was, and how DJT took a page from his playbook and ran with it
Interesting insight, but is there ever a way to really leverage this kind of BS? Like, has anyone ever cited a Justice's public comments in an argument or a brief to say "look you said [this], and applying your words here means my side wins, even if you don't like it"?

It’s #BannedBooksWeek, which means it’s the perfect time to dispel common myths and misconceptions about the prevalence and impacts of book bans across the United States. Here are five common myths about book banning that everyone should know the truth about 🧵
As always, when a devastating new report about book bans in America is published, I challenge you to think less about the most banned author — Stephen King is fine — and more about the banned authors who are trying to scrabble together a living from their art. pen.org/report/book-...

In 2016, allegations of abusing minors was enough to derail a GOP politician's career. It was called "disgraceful" and a "scandal" back then. How quaint. I suppose the fact that he was molesting boys instead of girls may have had something to do with it too. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/05/o...
Dennis Hastert, Powerful Politician Disgraced by Child Sexual Abuse, Dies
The longest-serving Republican speaker of the House admitted in 2016 to abusing teenage boys decades earlier. He was 84.
