Update on the crash (see prev posts for context): I'm walking around mostly OK now, starting PT today. Still get exhausted really easily but I'm managing. Unfortunately I don't know when/if I'll get compensation for all of this because the police did nothing and lost the video evidence. (1/2)
Actually nice update unlike last time: I'm already back to slowly walking without crutches. I can only manage maybe 10 minutes at most without getting completely exhausted, but it feels like I'm mostly back to normal daily life, just at a much slower pace.

The doctors are happy with how fast I'm recovering, and I'm hoping I can start physical therapy soon. We were also able to get access to footage of the incident and the police will be investigating.
Fun update: the only time the police had for an in-person appearance (which they need to start investigating!) is at the end of September. I have no clue if the other apartments will still have the video by then so I guess I have to go on a fetch quest with a broken leg, very cool

My parents were low income so I often just browsed game shops as a kid. Sometimes mum let me get a game. It'd cost her whole day's wage and a chunk of our rent. Dad once told me to check under the car seat and Pokemon Red was there in a bag. Ownership isn't the only thing we lose with physical media

Surgery went well without any complications, though I felt sick for the first few hours post-op due to the anesthesia. I'm back to normal now and waiting on the OK to leave. Expected full recovery time is 6 months but I'm already allowed to walk with a crutch.

update: still recovering well, but the management for the apartment building with the footage is being extremely uncooperative and insulting anyone who tries to request it, even with a police report and explicit permission from the police to ask for the footage. I hate rich kids
update: I'll have my final surgery in 2 to 3 days, but my leg is healed enough that I can start walking again with supports and a physical therapist nearby
gotta say it's honestly kinda awesome I'm gonna have a metal rod permanently affixed to my leg. part woman, part artifical construction
update: first surgery is done and went well, I'll be staying in the hospital for at least a day or two awaiting the next one. my tibula/fibula was fractured and parts of it broke off, seems like the metal supports are doing their job at holding it together but I need more surgeries to repair it

![What are your thoughts on recent censorship waves in Steam and Itch?
Very, very sad. I feel like we’ve entered a new point of no return with censorship on games distribution platforms, and it makes me worried for the future of gaming. The new difficulties involved in distributing adult games on these platforms is going to result in fewer people being exposed to them, which is only going to make the stigma around them worse (‘they’re just porn games, they [have] no meaning, they’re for weird gross perverts’, etc). The stigma being worse means fewer people will be playing them, and fewer people will be making them.
I always try to be hopeful, but I don’t have much hope to spare in this situation. I think the only recourse we have is to continue creating art regardless of whether authorities want us to or not, and to continue talking about it in ways that resonate with people. As I said before, I believe it’s very important to discuss how this kind of art affects us personally, and to make people see the power it has.
What would you like to see in visual novels in the near future?
I just want to see more authors discuss what they’re passionate about. Give me weird incomprehensible games about pre-industrial society, give me fun romps that deal with how silly gender is, give me route-based moege that are secretly about astrophysics… I just want to see people using the unique combination of art, visuals, sound, and interactivity that the medium offers to get people interested in the world and what it has to offer.
