The tiny town of Bow Mar is still trying to gate off access from outsiders. Now it’s hiring a $300/hour PR firm that deals in media relations and crisis communications. Bow Mar is also hiring outside lawyers to deal with neighboring Denver and Littleton. Both cities still say no to the gates.

Are democratic socialists coming for the Denver mayor's office next? Denver Mayor Mike Johnston thinks Melat Kiros' win Tuesday over 29-year incumbent Diana DeGette was about inaction in Washington, D.C., and Kiros' win does not concern him about his future in office.

Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros just upset 29-year incumbent Democrat Diana DeGette in the Colorado District 1 Democratic Primary. Kiros' critics say she is antisemitic. CO-1 includes Colorado's largest Jewish population. I asked Kiros for her message to fearful Jewish constituents:

Grateful for the Glendale Cherry Creek’s thoughtful writeup of Next’s street safety coverage. But for the sake of accuracy, our viewers are Godless mercenary hordes, not “hords,” whatever that means.

67 people-tracking Flock cameras across the U.S. were live-streaming on the internet, easily accessible with no login needed, @404media.co & @bennjordan.bsky.social found. We know of five compromised Flock cams in Colorado. One belongs to Douglas County, and it's at an open space trailhead.

President Trump’s “pardon” of Tina Peters has no more authority than the plastic Sheriff badge from a box of Cracker Jacks. Unless SCOTUS creates a sweeping new presidential power. Some of Colorado’s top criminal justice minds called it “bonkers,” “garbage,” and “a loser.”

Jim Avila rocked. I was lucky to work with Jim when he came to work in local news in San Diego. He loved being the smart guy in the room with younger reporters. We loved him back. He’d send the kindest messages after stories. Like this one on my last day. He made me feel like a million bucks
