@rootapp.com mobile version 0.9.30 is out 🧵 Most of it went to improvements around what happens when you come back to the app. Channels and DMs now catch up on their own after time in the background

Introducing… APP REVIEWS Your reviews go a long way: it helps your community install with confidence and hands developers the feedback they need to make their apps even better. These will be anonymous star ratings and the written reviews will only visible by app dev (for now)...
Playing with GPUs in @reactnative.dev. Our badges are flat SVGs. This demo traces the outline, extrudes it into a mesh, renders it with WebGPU (@wcandillon.bsky.social's react-native-wgpu + @swmansion.com's TypeGPU), and engraves your @rootapp.com's username on the back.
Bots automate, but it’s apps that create experiences. As Root gets ready to launch our community developer program, I wanted to talk about why Root supports both Apps and Bots and how developers choose between them. You can read more here: www.rootapp.com/blogs/why-ro...
Root is launching our v1.0 developer program! We’re building it around 3 ideas: - Build in the open - Developers have a choice - Apps are community experiences I wrote more about DevRel at Root here: rootapp.com/blogs/announ... Now let’s build!

Spencer Taylor@spencertay.bsky.social · 4mo agoIn the next version of the @rootapp.com mobile app, we're fixing camera streaming. A few of you said mobile video streams looked like a Game Boy (fair). I went digging, found a bug buried in the video engine itself, swapped that layer out, and now quality scales properly
Root Sudo is HERE. With Sudo, members get HD streaming, a Sudo badge, and more benefits rolling out over time. Our founder Jesse wrote up what Sudo is and where it's headed. Read it here: www.rootapp.com/blogs/introd...
