Countries keep telling us to start our own businesses. It makes their unemployment figures look so much better. Then they wade in and fuck over all small businesses, time and time again, to punish us for working for ourselves instead of selling our labour to make someone else richer. Every time.
Oni@onidraws.bsky.social · 2d agoI'm seeing small businesses shutting down shipping to the EU due to the PPWR so now I don't know if I can even sell to the EU because of this and the US because of the new tariffs laws. Basically I'm screwed and I might just perish at that point.
I have, with my own eyes, watched my tax dollars in the form of missiles as they hit buildings inhabited by civilians. I'd much prefer subsidizing a grocery story I don't use.

I think a lot of people who remain in fandoms for children's media as adults fundamentally misunderstand what we're saying when we criticize something being "for kids" Yes, children's media can engage with serious, mature topics. But it has to treat them like it's your first time hearing about it.
