I keep saying this - there are plenty of ways to do age verification without requiring people to give up their privacy online. The fact that governments insist on methods that require you to give up your privacy shows that "making people give up their privacy" was always the real point.

Most people voluntarily give up their full name and pictures of their face on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, etc! The government can very easily verify someone's identity anonymously, meaning without the website knowing who was verified. Australia just didn't implement this.

I have looked through the NYT's financial statements and people should know that the NYT's profits have gone up significantly since 2022, not because of news-only subscription revenue, but because of revenue driven by puzzle and recipe subscriptions, alone or bundled with news.

This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.
