Parasite burden of a single adult Drosophila melanogaster infected by the braconid wasp, Syntretus perlmani. Only one larva finishes developing in Dmel (you can see the unsuccessful competitors in this photo). Look at all of those teratocytes! Maybe more larvae means more teratocytes for the winner.

Ach beyond excited for @spirophasma.bsky.social: new paper on Syntretus perlmani, a parasitoid wasp that infests *adult* #Drosophila. The supp videos on this article are incredible, and the biology of euphorin wasps is insane. This is your next journal club paper, hands down. bit.ly/Sperlmani2024
