Super excited to be part of Evergreen’s presence at Artswalk this year! These students, staff, and faculty have been such an integral part of my community here in Olympia. I’m proud of all of them and proud to be part of such a vibrant and innovative parts community.

And it’s off to print! Chthonic Press’ first ever publication is now at the printer! The past couple months have definitely been a learning process (looking at you indesign) but I’m so excited to soon be able to share the poetry chapbook, “ten fathers,” slated for publication on Oct 2nd!

Gamer friends! Hello! Does anyone happen to have any recs for TTRPGs that are comedic in the sense of Greek comedy? Like satirical, overblown character archetypes, casting a mirror on society? Ideally GMless, though that’s not a requirement!

As I’m getting the patreon up and running, I would love to hear from YOU! What would you want to see as a patreon backer of an experimental literature and games press? (And yes, the tiers are named after the layers of soil because I couldn’t resist the pun)

CHOMP! is a short solo journaling game in which you play a zombie returning to your childhood home. Inspired by games like Thousand Year Old Vampire, sort through the destruction, find artifacts of your past life…

My name is Sarah “Sam” Saltiel and I’m an artist, writer, and game designer. I had insomnia and started a business! In truth this is something I’ve been thinking about for over a year—creating an infrastructure for publishing experimental games and literature.

Submissions now open! The Tabletop Game Alliance is accepting submissions Feb 1-15th! If you’re a new game designer, writer, or artist living in WA, I highly recommend applying to showcase your work at the March 14th Future of Games industry summit.

The first time I ran my game Passing with strangers, I brought it to a convention. A group of older white men (who knew each other) sat down and within 20 minutes used the 1950’s setting as an opportunity to make racist jokes. I X-carded them multiple times and ended up cutting the game short

I’ve asked this privately for a while, but here we go: in the following comments I’m going to ask for folks to “like” (and ideally provide anonymized comments) of the use of the “X-Card” or other legible safety tools. This is very unrigorous initial sense of the lay of the land.
