Just want to jump in to clear up any confusion. 1) That's Zahn McClarnon in the GIF, and it's taken from Reservation Dogs, not Dark Winds. 2) This post isn't about him. 3) I'm very aware of APTN. Thanks. I've been on their news show. 4) This post is about coyoteandcrow.net and Indigenous Futurism.

Go support @fridaytea.com. Not because they are a trans ally or because they took a stand regarding JKR and Harry Potter. Not because they collaborated with us on TWO different Coyote & Crow blends. Support them because they are an amazing small business that delivers incredible teas.

This article hits hard. Long before I knew I had dysphoria or wasn't cis/straight, I loved Chun-Li and Sonya Blade. I was the only kid in our D&D group to play a female character. Later, all my favorite games (Mass Effect, HZD, Alien Isolation, Control) featured women + I still hadn't figured it out

The TERFs still get mad that a quote of mine from this very old piece was displayed on an exhibit in the International Video Game Museum in the UK. www.themarysue.com/women-in-gam...

I'm going to have a blog post about this soon, but being able to officially open the doors on the Coyote & Crow Storyteller program is huge. And @arcanecirclegames.bsky.social is a big part of that. Having official Storytellers will really help us grow.

Much like how we've been getting some great new indie horror films in the last 5-10 years, we've had some incredible Indigenous horror books to devour recently. Check these out, I promise you a good read!

People Magazine requested @tvayyyy.bsky.social and me to highlight some Indigenous Horror novels for folks to check out in celebration of the release of our new anthology, NEVER WHISTLE AT NIGHT, PART II: BACK FOR BLOOD, which is now available wherever books are sold. people.com/terrifying-n...

SO excited to be an official storyteller for this program 🎉 Y’all know I love playing @coyoteandcrow.bsky.social, and it holds a special place in my heart as the first non-D&D TTRPG I ever got to experience 💜 Keep an eye on @arcanecirclegames.bsky.social for some awesome C&C games coming soon!

Every so often, I have an email exchange with someone from a Native nation who shares what they're doing with Coyote & Crow. It always blindsides me, and usually wrecks me emotionally. I'm authorized to share this bit with you all, so now you can be wrecked too. Enjoy. (text in alt)

Aho, Kenna!

No specific request… I am simply excited to share how HCN Behavioral Health is utilizing the Coyote & Crow universe to support our community outreach and grant-funded initiatives. Over the recent year, we have successfully introduced the system to several key community programs and institutional partners, including:
    • Ho-Chunk Nation Library (featured as a spotlight for Family Game Night)
    • Ho-Chunk Department of Education
    • Ho-Chunk Veterans Affairs
    • Black River Falls School District (Black River Falls, WI)
    • Indigenous Student Center at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (highlighted during the 2026 Indigenous Game Jam)
    • Several Ho-Chunk community members

To evaluate the real-world utility of the system within our behavioral health framework, our staff recently play-tested a locally produced storyline (attached). This narrative serves as a practical baseline demonstrating how the Coyote & Crow universe can be effectively leveraged as a delivery tool for therapeutic philosophies and as a natural "door opener" for challenging conversations. The general consensus of the play-test was that while the story was engaging the dice mechanics were a challenge, especially for those unfamiliar to TTRPG game mechanics.

Our overarching goal is to utilize tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) to foster deeper community connectedness and revitalize traditional storytelling as a powerful healing and educational tool in our Prevention and Recovery Support efforts.

We deeply appreciate the foundation your game provides for this meaningful work.

One of the things I was hoping I'd see for my adventure, Chrysalis, for the Alien RPG was some art for the pre-generated characters. Sadly, didn't happen. If anyone does any fan art for it, please tag me! Or talk to me if you're planning on doing some, and I will boost the heck out of you.

As anyone in publishing will tell you, women do not resist reading books by men, but men will often dismiss books by women. This is not a publishing problem or a failure to target men. It's a misogyny problem.

For readers who love The Daily Show and Reservation Dogs. Check out my new comedy book "We’ve Been Here The Whole Time! A Not So Sacred Guide to All Things Native America." It’s like if The Onion wrote a book about Indian Country!

I'm so proud to be on the Emerging Technology Committee for @sfwa.bsky.social . We've recently added a resource page to SFWA's site that will help writers navigate the ever-increasing threat of "AI" and LLMs to the publishing world. Check it out! More soon! sfwa.org/emerging-tech/
