Today marks the release of @staffcirc.bsky.social album vol. 13 'Frog Mechanics' an ode to FM synthesis. I didn't make a track but I did have the honour of creating the artwork. Super stoked to have had a small hand in this album which, as usual, is a crazy inspiring collection of bangers.

A frog and a toad are positioned next to a highly reflective orb in a dark void with a checkerboard floor. The amphibians are dressed in overalls and hardhats, and the orb is surrounded by floating gears, cogs, bolts and tools as well as two FM chips.

I was a little surprised when nardinyouryard approached me to work on the artwork, but accepted with a combo of imposter syndrome and excitement. nard had a really fun concept inspired by mushbuh's iconic vol.1 art, which I made and we ended up using for the liner notes credits.

A pink diffuse ball sits in a blue void. A frog dressed in overalls and a hard hat sits atop the ball, smiling. A toad dressed in the same clothing stands in front, excitedly lurching towards an FM chip. Some gears, cogs and tools are laid around the area.

nard also told me I was welcome to go off piste and try my own ideas, so during the process of working on nard's concept I also worked on the cover we landed on - an homage to computer graphics renders of the FM era incorporating the cute frogs.

I made a couple more renders in these worlds which are included in the album's liner notes, so I implore you to not just listen to the album but go and download it on bandcamp and read through all the composer's thoughts. Huge thanks to sergeo and nard for their trust and good vibes.

i'm on this one! i resurrecting the classic "PC-98 by way of FM samples in impulse tracker" method coda and i used for "tree of knowledge"! can't wait for you to hear all the incredible artists on here (i haven't even heard everything so it's just as exciting for me too 🤩)
