Recently I found a rain-stained, love-sick poem I wrote in a Haiti treehouse. This great feature by @falenciajfwrites.bsky.social took me back to post-earthquake Haiti. The poem is now a story about comeuppance for tradition and commerce meddling, due out in @wallstrait.bsky.social next month.

This was a personal one — catharsis during my son's illness. I was touched @hinterlandnf.bsky.social took an interest. It's also about hope. My son is two now. We have his three-monthly scan results tomorrow, which is always an anxious wait. He is doing great: curly-haired, smiling, walking.
