One of my mom's funnier quirks is that for years she has been buying me dog toys. I do not have a dog. She does not have a dog. She sees the plush squeaky toys while she's doing errands and buys them for me. Every time I thank her but tell her that it is a squeaky dog toy and she goes "I know!"

got far enough into this current simpsons rewatch to see my favorite scene in the entire show. some of the funniest animation they've ever done and dan castellaneta's gutteral "ow... OWWWWWWWWWWWW" wrecks me every time

Today I learned that baby cranes are called "colts" because their legs are so long and they can run around like idiots shortly after hatching. This is delightful, I enjoy knowing this.

photo of two sandhill crane colts that are about 50% leg and 50% neck and head and taking some big steppies.

One of the more painful DDR "almost"s I've had recently: almost FC'd Max 360 expert. Almost. Lost it not on the final jacks like everyone else does, but on the couple steps right before them for literally no reason lol

Earlier my boss pulled me into a convo she was having with a co-worker by saying "(name) you're smart you know things! What's (XYZ)" and while I'm flattered I fear this means I am the Simon* of my store's ensemble *of chipmunk fame

This job has given me the most distilled version of the entitled customer: people who come in 30 min before we close bc they didn't check our hours and then indignantly demand I let them in at a discount/for free. No? Lmao? Do you get half price meals at restaurants for having poor time management?

Today I asked a kid what her favorite thing about being 4 is and rather than answer she made prolonged eye contact with me and silently produced a rock from her shirt pocket for me to behold
