The reason Trump wants to make elections federal is because now he has to go state by state to corrupt one at a time. Musk just corrupted the vote in the 8 swing states and he's back to do it again.
Renewable energy like solar, wind, or tidal, as well as localized battery storage create increased protections for sovereignty, community resiliency, and self-determination.

You know how we always joke about how people before the 90’s look like they’re 20 years older than they’d look now? One reason was because the air people breathed pre-epa (created in 1970) was chew-ably THICK with pollution.
What 9 American Cities Looked Like Before the EPA Came Along
The fossil fuel industry and their allies in Congress are gutting the EPA. Take a trip down memory lane to the 1970s where the American people were suffering from various health issues due to air, wat...

Oh you mean can do public information services that speak directly to the needs at hand , without erasing historical precedent and amplifying stochastic terror ?!?
Dutch site IDs ICE agents via public data “ICE aren’t actually fearful of their safety…What they’re fearful of is not being invited to baseball games or not being invited to the pub with their friends. Community exclusion – that’s what they’re fearful of” wiki.icelist.is/index.php/Category:Agents
I remember well the damage the Harper government did to science. Remember when top scientists had to clear anything they said publicly with a Con “handler”?? Appalling.
And one more recommendation for good measure: "A New Deal for the Tropics" by Manuel R. Rodríguez. It's an academic book, but readable and filled with historical nuggets that you'll be shocked you didn't already know.
Another good book: "Fantasy Island" by Ed Morales, which really goes deep into how Puerto Rico ended up bankrupt a decade ago and, shortly thereafter, left to languish in the second-longest blackout in world history.
This is a good moment to note that Daniel Immerwahr's "How to Hide an Empire" is fast read and does a good job of contextualizing the last 128 years of U.S. rule over Puerto Rico.
Reading about the ancient cities of North America in “Native Nations” by @kathleenduval.bsky.social creates powerful images of elaborate, complex, and sophisticated urban spaces. North American history is as seductive to our imagination and knowledge as Romans, Inca, Greeks, Babylonians… and so on
