Batman sketch for auction in aid of DoodleDay for Epilepsy Action.
Eyyy up... nah then lad... Happy Yorkshire Day everyone.
I drew this Lovecraft-inspired strip in 1985-ish for a role playing game magazine, it was the first time I got paid for drawing comics. I had done a ton of comics work in fanzines prior to this, & I roped a mate from those fanzine strips in to write it.... wonder what ever happened to him?
I don't think I've ever put these on Bluesky, I did these cover paintings for Marvel UK's Transformers comic in the early 90's.
To all my American pals, on this July 4th it's important to remember the words of the Founding Fathers.. "there's a shark in the pond!"
June 28: on this day in 1974 a young Chrissie Watkins decided to go for a swim in the waters off the coast of Amity Island. What happened next was NOT a boating accident.
I've done a few commissions with a few artists and I cannot reccomend @stazjohnson.bsky.social highly enough. One of the best engagements. Proffesional, responsive, reasonably accommodating, and the finished piece was WAY better than I'd hoped for. The whole process genuinely brought me joy.
Here are details & examples of the private commissions I now offer. DM me if you're interested or if you have any questions.
I know I've asked this before, but I now need to get two of sketches done for a charity auction to benefit Epilepsy Action. It ought to be characters with mass appeal, but I've drawn so many Batmans & Spidermans, that I just want to draw something I'll enjoy. Your suggestions please, two characters.
Here's some more old stuff... these are the first pages from my first story drawn for Marvel US, Thor #477, I'm guessing around '94 or '95. Unfortunately, I didn't get to draw the classic Thor costume, this was during the time that lots of Marvel superheroes were given new EXtreme outfits🙄
Continuing the recent theme of old artwork, here's a sample strip I did in the mid 1980's in the hope of getting work at @2000ad.bsky.social , & although that didn't work, it did catch the eye of @sharkbitesteve.bsky.social at Marvel UK which led to my first work for them on Action Force.

A couple of years ago I worked on a comic mini-series with @mrtonylee.bsky.social & @Bruce Dickinson (of Iron Maiden fame), here's some of the pencils from the third & (what I believe was) the last issue.
A couple of last minute space girl doodles & that's me done for today..
