Imagine if this article was about on street parking that at least 1/3rd of the population may never use by pay taxes for anyways, while u see cutting th motivate parking market. You would have to imagine it because it wouldn't get published.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Cars have become nothing more than an expensive subscription(s) delivery service that forces you to pay for each update or vital services or to bypass ads, all while also spying on you and being an incredibly inefficient transportation mode. #CarsSuck

This sucks ass. When I start my car I want to be able to put my foot on the pedal and drive off. I dont want to watch an ad. A distracting ad. Right in the middle of my console. Again. This sucks ass.

The follow up visit today was good, lots of scar tissue had pulled almost most of the retina away. Dr. Was able to clean all that up and reattach the retina, already recovered some vision. Can see some lights and some movement, but no details, should return over time. Thanks for all the good wishes

Home from eye surgery #3 Now for 7 days of face down recovery & hopefully a full recovery! 🀞

The barriers are doing their job both in protecting the bike lanes but in also protecting the drivers who aren't paying attention to where they are driving. This isn't a problem, it's a feature. For drivers it's better to ride up the barrier than it is to slam into the barrier causing injury.

β€œIt essentially did what it was supposed to do. It stopped that car from crossing over into the bike lane,” said Ryan McMonigle, a city spokesman.

E bikes are now speed limited to 20 mph in bike lanes even though the bike lanes are speed governed by the speed of the road they are on. So I can go faster than 20 on my pedal bike but not my E-bike! It's such a fucking moral panic! One that we all know will negatively effect minorities most!

The city passed legislation that limits speeds for electronic mobility devices and creates an age limit for some higher speed vehicles. Advocates helped create the ordinance, but worry about some changes the city council made to the rules.

$175M seems pretty reasonable especially when compared to the $3B being spent on widening I-70 and the recently proposed $4.3B to rebuild 71 and I-35 highways. Car centric design is expensive and extractive, Public Transit is expensive, but additive and inclusive!

Officials presented a plan for an east-west streetcar route that runs between Kansas City's historic jazz district and Main Street, where it would intersect with the existing north-south line.

If you use Shopify, now is a great time to start looking for an alternative solution. "Tying the right to vote to wealth... was the dominant system for the majority of early modern history." Generations fought for the universal right to vote, let's not go back!

Why did a $154 billion CEO just endorse stripping most Americans of voting rightsβ€”and taking us back to the 19th century? | Fortune

Should how much you pay in taxes determine how much your vote counts? Shopify CEO Tobi LΓΌtke seems to think so.

Moral panics be it shoplifting, E-bikes, the Satanic Panic etc etc etc are always vibes based, never have any data to back them up, and do irreparable harm to the target communities, with virtually zero accountability to those who perpetuated the Moral Panics! Be sceptical and aware of them!

As good as many of you said. I really appreciate the unambiguous point that this primarily a racist moral panic before unpacking the nuanced second-order explanations. dannykatch.substack.com/p/we-used-to...

I ask everyone concerned to email Public Works, specifically Jason Waldron jason.waldron@kcmo.org & Angie Laurie Angela.Laurie@kcmo.org to ask them to keep the lanes & CC: City Manager Mario Vasquez Mario.Vasquez@kcmo.org Losing these & or replacing them with a 10ft multi use trail are not ok.

@mayorq.bsky.social removing our bike lanes would set KC back years. I am now 100% blind in my right eye & I rely upon the Gillham Cycle Track as my one safe north south route. There are so few routes that are multiple miles long & protected. Let's not go back, let's continue to progress forward
