Saw Camp Miasma last night. Absolutely loved it. And although I already have several kaftans in my wardrobe, it made me want to further lean into the unhinged cougar/recluse starlet vibe. What’s some good inspo?

“If ever there was a woman you’d want to join your book group or spend an evening chatting with at a wine bar, Stella Harris is that person. With shoulder-length gray hair and fashionable glasses, she exudes a sophisticated professorial air that’s backed up by credentials...”

At 62, I Signed Up For A Class On ‘How to Give Mind-Blowing Blow Jobs.’ I Never Expected What Happened Next.

"My husband complained that I never initiated sex — that I never seemed to want it. He was right."

I’m working on a new class (or, heavily updating an old class) and trying to come up with a new title. Do you think the general public would understand a reference to “BookTok”? Well, ‘general public’ meaning people who’d see marketing for a fantasy exploration/sex ed class.

I’ve been playing Balder’s Gate 3 for a couple of weeks now. Getting used to a gaming console again has been awkward. Learning DnD mechanics has been tricky. But the hardest part of the game? Monogamy. I am not built for this.

Unfortunately, it’s time to retire my trusty Fleshlight that I’ve used as a teaching model for at least a decade. I can’t decide if I want to go with something else realistic, like a medical model, or go the cute route, with something like a vulva puppet. Thoughts?

I got a call during this time frame. They were looking for someone else, but were happy to talk to me. (I’m such a nerd for these calls.) The questions were phrased very strangely, with no adequate responses for my opinions. When asked, the caller said he didn’t know who they were working for.

The title of this OregonLive article is, "New Oregon governor poll shows Tina Kotek and Christine Drazan race is far from settled". Wow! Shocking! Must be a pretty reputable poll to make the news, right? Well... oregonlive.com share.google/maFgLvQFR4L6...

Nearly half of survey respondents — 48% — said they would likely or definitely vote for Drazan if the election were held today, compared to 44% for Kotek. The poll was conducted by Public Opinion Strategies, a national Republican-aligned polling firm, and surveyed 600 registered voters across Oregon by telephone between June 22 and 24.

Went to a munch for the first time in ages last night. The fear of being forgotten is only matched by the fear of what completely wild, unhinged thing people will loudly exclaim they remember me from.

Apparently the internet is once again debating who is a “real reader.” Have you sat down to read a book in the middle of a sex club? Have you read a book during a threesome you were meant to participate in? I’d like to see the smut & audiobook haters show this level of commitment to reading.

“Where the traditional Gothic is dark and looming… Institutional Gothic occurs in winding or otherwise empty office spaces, consumed by machine-made mundanity & the unforgiving gaze of noisy overhead fluorescent lighting. The antagonists, once bloodthirsty lords, are instead soulless corporations.”

‘Backrooms’ and the Rise of the Institutional Gothic

A new spin on an old genre replaces flesh-and-blood monsters with the mundanity of modern bureaucracy.

It’s movie night with my favorite scaredy cat! Looking for inspo on Letterboxed and multiple lists of “beginner” horror suggest The Shining. A reminder that horror weirdos (like me) have no understanding of what scares normal people.

I was supposed to give a talk later this week, but the person hiring me just backed out. They said that upon further reflection, they can't afford me - it's just not in the budget for their event. The conversation could (should) have ended there.

As a sex & kink educator, I don't always feel I have the expertise to meet the current moment. But apparently the safety risks of hog tying people have become relevant outside the dungeon/bedroom, so here we go: Bondage comes with hidden risks, including nerve damage and positional asphyxiation.
