writing makes me feel normal. as an author, i still can't accurately describe the feeling or why. it's like all my mental illnesses agree to calm down when im hammering away at a story. my brain behaves, focused on the task at hand. i wonder if the same is true for other authors?

My anxiety manifests the most through overthinking. Lately, all my usual mechanisms to calm down don't feel like they're working. Other #anxiety sufferers here on Bsky, what do you do when your usual methods don't seem to be working as well/at all? (Bear in mind that I'm not officially diagnosed)
