Assistant Professor, NYU Center for Neural Science. We study how neurons use molecules to compute behavioral variables. https://stephenzhanglab.org
I am grateful for the support from @klingensteinorg.bsky.social and the opportunity to participate in the community. I look forward to meeting the rest of the cohort and everyone else in the next meeting!
Congratulations to Stephen Zhang, Ph.D., recipient of a 2026 Klingenstein Fellowship Award in Neuroscience for the project "How to Synchronize 20,000 Clock Neurons" @stephen-zhang.bsky.social www.stephenzhanglab.org
Praneel's study shows that two temporally complementary mechanisms, neuronal excitability and neurotransmitter composition, jointly control dopamine release and mating drive over days. Praneel is a dedicated, mature, and wholesome student on his way to becoming a physician scientist.
I am excited to share our preprint on how hypothalamic dopamine neurons govern slow changes in motivation over days! Below are our findings: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
