The J stands for “Jiggity Jig”

Finally played the demo for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. I love it. I disagree with whomever said it lacks appeal for adults. It’s not “Yoshi’s Island But Easy” it’s a Yoshi game with a different style of gameplay that they were wise enough to realize did not benefit from spiky game design.

Throughout the entire hayday of the point-and-click adventure, and even after the revival of the genre, I feel like they never cracked how to give one a satisfying climactic ending. It either abruptly ends after a normal puzzle, or after a puzzle with a time-bomb countdown that politely loops.

Made this sticker for our wedding. It’s a singlue Sonobe unit or Sonobe module. It’s a type of modular origami that featured heavily in our wedding decorations as well as my proposal decorations. I designed it to resemble an “S” for “Stephen”. #art

Breezed through the DK retro challenges (navigating Bananza for the modern ones seemed like a hassle. This one says you need to “jump over cutoff and damaged rails and complete Minecart Carnage” but actually they’ll award you the card even if you use the secret to avoid jumping over any such rails.
