This is something that a lot of people don't really seem to grasp. It's not just "sending 12+ emails," it's looking for people in the area, unlikely to have conflicts of interest, and hoping that they actually respond 12+ times. I spend so much energy just searching for reviewers!

Peer reviewers are exhausted. It's common to spend *months* inviting reviewers, getting refusals, inviting more, maybe 12 or more, then 2 agree but 1 doesn't complete, so you go again. That's why your paper is in limbo. I'm very sorry, it's awful, but it's also an untenable academic labour issue.

Just gotta share an excerpt from a text from my mom. I think it's even better without context... "Also another car went through the roof of the veteran’s building this morning at 7:20! Same deal except it went through the bar side, not the kitchen side. The guy walked away."

Legit cried reading this back in middle school. The whole subplot on how Darcy's HR-16 pads mysteriously lost response one by one, but then it was revealed that he usually kept it in a damp wine cellar was so poignant!

I'd been waiting to upload songs for my next album for a while, but cdbaby seemed to have been down for maintenance for several days... I just now realized that they were down for a short while, but I'd been refreshing their maintenance announcement, not their front page! Oops! Uploading tracks now😅
