So I've had water pooling in front of my house for years. I've contacted the city literally dozens of times since 2017. They come out, say "hmmm, yep that's a problem" and move on. Our State Senator Molly Cook sent staff by to ask if they can help with anything. There are people fixing our street.

FWIW, I got the jab in '20 and got pregnant six months later WHILE I WAS PERIMENOPAUSAL. Both because science is awesome and so are our bodies. And also, I, like Cat Power, happened to be in my late 40s when the COVID vaccine came out.

I get not having time to go to the theater when you have kids. I get treating your kid like a person and letting them get to experience the world with other people. I'm judging the fuck out of parents who do this, though. Sometimes raising a kid time is just that and you can do you stuff later.

I got five spam political texts in one 3 hour movie period. Since my dad had his stroke last year, I try to keep up with them in case something important does come through. It’s about 80 a week despite “stop” and report as spam. Texting is as useless now as phone calls and emails.
Huh. I think this story has legs! To be a fair in comparison (I haven’t read it since I was a teenager), I picked up Emily Wilson’s translation at the Barnes and Noble across the street from the theater when I got out.
