The Democratic establishment is just a bunch of prominent dem-aligned entities. They all have different positions, different goals, different constrictions, different means. When they all align, they CAN push through a nominee, but they fight with each other as much as they fight anyone else.

The Downballot@the-downballot.com · 13h agoSeems like an upset might be brewing in the GOP primary in #MI08 to take on Dem Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet. Trump endorsed Amir Hassan, but he currently trails an absolute nobody who suspended his campaign a month ago by a wide margin.

the whole 'nothing has gotten better' discourse is of course fucking stupid in a million ways, but I just wanted to note that average dog lifespan in the United States has increased by two years since 2000.

In general feel like it gets underrated Reagan spent five years as President of a Union; one of the things that made his Presidency more successful than Carter's was that he treated legislators like studio heads he had to bargain with while Carter treated them like Navy subordinates to order around.

Also like, yes, air travel is less "luxurious" than it was decades ago, but also now you can get to far flung parts of the world often for just a few hundred dollars. Guess what most ppl actually prefer?
