Claiming to be the highest hillfort in Italy and even at a push Europe, standing at 1,500m the fortress of Rocca Calascio has incredible views over Abruzzo. The Castle was also a location in the film The Name of the Rose. Maybe slightly bending the criteria for #HillfortsWednesday ?

At Avebury, surely the mothership of #StandingStoneSunday ? The world’s largest prehistoric stone circle for starters, and the avenue of stones pretty impressive too

great to visit St Mary’s Maternity Hospital Poole yesterday before it moves to brand new building in Bournemouth @uhdnhs.bsky.social Talking to staff who were there when my daughter was born there, spaces barely changed but maternity is a wholly different service now, fascinating to learn more
