Certain political parties (looking at you especially here Greens and Reform) need to do much, much better in supporting their candidates, and also informing candidates as to the nature of what being a local councillor entails!

Absolutely. And lest we forget, Gianni was supposed "reform" FIFA from within and clean up the corrupt mess left behind after the Blatter grift machine. What a joke this man is. But a perfect reflection of the times. The game deserves so much better. We'll see if it ever gets it.

However, it's equally important that his successor be somebody outside of FIFA. The organisation needs a clean broom to sweep away the rubbish.

This is a thing. Too many people increasingly judge things based on whether or not they are left or right coded. Not only is this bad for politics, but it also does a huge disservice to everything being judged in this manner (usually wrongly) as being for folk of a certain political persuasion!

The decline of free market conservatism in the last decade has been remarkable. IMHO it stems from Conservatives becoming seduced by spiteful nationalism, leading them to regularly prioritise red tape over free trade.

This is protectionism. It's quite trendy at present but it never ever works. We need a better approach to procurement in order to deliver best value for the British taxpayer.

Keeping both Mahmood and Nandy in position is wrong. Miliband and Streeting getting those positions, as they didn't stand against him but got completely wrong jobs. Some catastrophic decisions.

Whilst the USA has not been a good host, the blame for the World Cup being a substandard tournament lies primarily with FIFA. It's as though this World Cup has been organised by Dejphon Chansiri. Giannini Infantino is killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
