I'm here out of love and passion for most all of the sportsball(s)…especially baseball, hockey, futbol, college sports, etc … Red Sox, Dodgers, Carolina Hurricanes, Carolina Panthers. Liverpool, Sheffield Wednesday, Barcelona, etc, etc….

Andrew Friedman said he went into the deadline intent on being aggressive for only one player. They started talking to the Tigers on Friday and got it done. Skubal starts on Tuesday. Eric Lauer goes to the bullpen.

Why isn’t it a much bigger story that the regime leader was willing to jail an Olympian for ten years rather than admit he fucked up the reflecting pool? And that he still is claiming vandals?!?! I guess part of me is glad I still have the capacity to be appalled by this mofo.

"Sources with knowledge of the scheme say the intention was for Infantino to become the chief executive or commissioner after his presidency, with a basic salary — before any bonuses — of $30million (about £22.2million) a year". Gianni Infantino clinging to power as efforts to oust him intensify

Support is flooding away from the Fifa president, who will likely be asked to resign at emergency council meeting and is scrambling to establish base of backers

Absolutely. And lest we forget, Gianni was supposed "reform" FIFA from within and clean up the corrupt mess left behind after the Blatter grift machine. What a joke this man is. But a perfect reflection of the times. The game deserves so much better. We'll see if it ever gets it.

I wholeheartedly agree that Gianni Infantino has been a disaster for world football and needs to step down ASAP. However, it's equally important that his successor be somebody outside of FIFA. The organisation needs a clean broom to sweep away the rubbish.

The striking thing about the manosphere is how unregulated it is: the stalking, the podcasts who platform proven abusers, the algorithms pushing the hate, all of it. The silence or the impotence or the indifference of the institutions who have the power to affect it. The rot is so, so thorough.

Special report from Port Arthur, Texas. It is one of the saddest, most desolate places I have ever visited. It is also where Aramco, FIFA's major worldwide partner and an inescapable presence at the World Cup, owns the largest oil refinery in the US. www.theguardian.com/football/202...

‘This is a hellhole’: Aramco makes its presence hurt in the shadow of the World Cup

The oil giant’s sponsorship deal with Fifa has featured prominently at matches in Houston. But 100 miles away in another Texas city, residents say the firm’s refinery is exposing them to poisonous gas...

Column: Brendan Sorsby and his circle keep trying to find a way to play football in 2026, and keep getting rejected. It might be the best thing to stop fighting, accept the consequences and sit this upcoming season out. bit.ly/3SXpNwQ

Pat Forde: Why Sitting Out 2026 May Be Brendan Sorsby’s Path Back to Football

The QB has spent months trying to outrun the consequences of his gambling addiction, but sitting out may be the first step to rebuilding his life and career.

honestly the NBA moving the draft to Tuesday night because they didn't want to go up against the USMNT World Cup game has to be one of the biggest "soccer has made it in this country" moments of all time
