Nature, like coding, comes with so many strange "features" resulting from previous designs lol
c0nc0rdance@c0nc0rdance.bsky.social · last mo.For World Octopus Day🐙, let's learn a weird fact about the three hearts of our eight-legged friend. The SYSTEMIC HEART of an octopus STOPS BEATING while they swim / jet. Seems like a design flaw, doesn't it? Let's talk about it.
I've been obsessed with Massachusetts's pine barrens recently. It's such a strangely beautiful place! The sandy dunes provide a unique inland habitat for fire-adapted species rich in insects and birds like whip-poor-wills. #ecology #sandbarrens #pinebarrens
I recently did a griffin with a marbled polecat. They are so cute I should draw more!
c0nc0rdance@c0nc0rdance.bsky.social · last mo.The marbled polecat (Vormela peregusna) looks like a ferret dressing up as a cheetah for Halloween. They're native to a semi-desert grassland strip from Eastern Europe to Central Asia. Like a skunk, they can spray a foul-smelling fluid from anal glands. Let's talk about them. (📷: Petra Prager)
Ugh, I was using old video software to edit my clips, and after hours of work the program auto-updated, and now it crashes constantly. I can't roll it back! >.< I miss the days before enshittification. It was from 2018 with updates from 2025 or so but it was working fine until now.
My husband got this lovely shot of me playing a princess for Crowdsource Cinema, Glad we were able to get the shot done before the coming storm! #redhead #eye #photography #FlowerCrown
The Greenfield Recorder did a follow up, and unlike the Globe actually provided decent info on Long COVID/COVID instead of mocking disabled people for clicks. recorder.com/2026/09/24/g...

How to Make a Literal Cat in Your Favorite RPG@literalcatpod.bsky.social · 2mo agoShoutout to @mint-rabbit.bsky.social for putting together the list of RPGs we used in this episode! All games we actually used listed in the thread: Original post here: www.tumblr.com/theresattrpg...
Happy International Fox Day! Here's a piece I finished last year "Foxheart" that's part of a series inspired by the work of astronaut Alan Bean. I hand-carved paw prints out of rubber to press into the paint. #fox #AnimalArt #AcrylicPainting #Painting #Artist #NoAIArt #texture
I was worried if my comic is perhaps too self indulgent, but then I remembered the words of Björk and now I need to make it even more self indulgent 🥰
Artists, show how you paint stars!
Shade of Stars@shade-of-stars.bsky.social · 2mo agoArtists, show how you paint stars!
I love making wrap-around paintings because you can get fun effects like this (not to mention, it's kinda nice not needing a frame?) I need to plot out some more like this before the local small works shows start again! #Fox #Surreal #AcrylicPainting #NoAIart #TraditionalArtist
Reviving my account after an absence, I've been struggling with my disability getting worse (possibly since a bout of COVID along other factors) but finally finding strategies to manage <3 Looking forward to learning what y'all have been up to!
I own this owl deck, it's so beautiful! If you like Tarot, this is a great artist to check out!
Elisabeth Alba@elisabethalba.bsky.social · 2mo agoThe Owl Knights from Tarot of the Owls! These four original paintings are currently in the "High Fantasy" auction with the Changeling Artist Collective at www.facebook.com/ChangelingAr... Which one is your favorite? I think mine is the Knight of Cups!
I love making ACEOs, here's an older one that has since found a home. I need to draw more moosicorns! #ACEO #NoAIArt #TraditionalArt #Moose #Unicorn #ColoredPencil #AnimalArt #Wildlife
There's a small trickle of what's left available in the shop right now. Will add more a bit later if they sell out

I'm adding some of my newer designs to my website today, and I'm getting stickers reprinted soon to include them. Here's one of my favorites of a ferret that I just added it as a vinyl decal for cars, etc ^.^ stormslegacy.com/product/ferr... #Ferret #pets #TattooDesign #NoAIArt
My cat Mushi always has the most awkward sleeping poses. I love that his tail always curls around a leg 🫶🏼 #cat #pets #CornishRex
I love going through my old sketchbooks. I used to pick an animal daily to do studies in ballpoint pen and somehow got out of the habit. Here are some of my hippo sketches! (Look ma! No AI!) #hippo #animals #sketchbook #sketches #Artist
My local graveyard is overgrown with Jack O'Lantern mushrooms! They glow (faintly) in the dark, so cool! #mushroom #halloween #graveyard #bioluminescent #orange
I love texture. I was playing around with a crackle medium that reminded me of reptile skin; it was more subtle than I expected! The background is painted with it, but it just adds some complexity. I love reptiles; I need to paint them more! #AcrylicPainting #Painting #Tortoise #Reptile #Herps
I swear, capturing photos of bugs for iNaturalist is just like playing an IRL game of Pokemon. My phone is full of them 😅 Gotta catch them all!
This piece by @k-u-r-0-i.bsky.social was the piece that, in part, inspired me to create my piece, “Smolder” in 2019. It was such a striking piece and is still a personal favorite of theirs. Go check them out and drop a follow!
I presented my work at Westfield Art Works Articulture event! Finished my red panda just in time! #artist #art #AcrylicPainting #AnimalArt #RedPanda #FantasyArtist
Reminder that words matter. You can’t “deport” a US citizen. You might be kidnapping, disappearing, exiling, expelling, illegally removing, etc., but you’re not “deporting” a US citizen.
