The Sabres are relying on Östlund, Kulich, & Helenius to step in & produce in pivotal roles this year after not making any external moves in the wake of Alex Tuch’s departure. The big question is, what will the adjustment period look like as they step into full-time NHL roles?

Sports Trivia at Mr. Goodbar is BACK! Join us 10/6 for our first trivia night of the season + a watch party for Sabres vs Wild. 2 Sabres categories, 2 Bills categories, & 2 general sports categories with prizes such as Sabres tickets, signed Sabres gear, gift certificates & more!

We’re back with our Season 7 finale discussing our decision to go independent, sports betting, the Hellebuyck rumors heating up again, our confidence in the Sabres’ goaltending situation, rating the offseason as a whole, and more!

I have some questions about Zellweger (mostly related to his size/play in his own zone and getting benched in the playoffs), but: 1. His offensive upside is exciting 2. He's young and improving 3. I will not miss pick #45 or Wahlberg

LOVE getting Benson at that AAV and term. A good deal now that will almost certainly be a bargain in the coming years. Needless to say, I love the return on the Byram deal, even if I wish he'd stayed at a reasonable price. Letting Tuch go was the right move, so it was nice to get a pick for him.

Good way to view the Tuch situation: look at the wingers from 2010-2013 drafts aka the ages Tuch would be in the 1st half of an 8-year deal (Tuch was 2014 draft). How many of these wingers right now would you be happy paying $11+ mil per year? I’d confidently say only 2-3.

Reports continue to indicate the Sabres & Alex Tuch will be parting ways July 1. Thankfully for the Sabres, an offseason that projects to have a lot of player movement combined with internal reinforcements should give the team multiple options to fill the Tuch-void in the top 9.

To be specific, Brendan had a busy week with work. I actually got lost in The Backrooms. I didn't do anything weird or discover something dark within myself. I mostly just hooped in a bizarre, oblong version of my old high school gym. The ball was square and the tiger mascot was yellow. Odd week.

We both had busy weeks this week so no new episode but we’ll be back with a new one on Monday recapping Lindy getting robbed of the Jack Adams, Larkin being available, more offseason talk, and, perhaps most importantly, NOT a word on the Stanley Cup.

“It’s not “oh it’s gonna be a problem when he’s 37.” It could be a problem when he’s 32.” On our new episode out now, we discuss the latest on Alex Tuch, goaltending next year, if the Sabres should trade young pieces for proven talent, & more offseason questions.

The Sabres’ season ended in heartbreak, but for the first time in a long time, there’s real optimism to be had. On our new episode, we dive into how we’re feeling after the Game 7 loss against Montreal and recap this incredible ride as we look ahead to a bright future.

We are putting the bad vibes of Game 3 behind us and are LOCKING IN for the Game 4 watch party upstairs at Mr. Goodbar on Tuesday. Our last watch party was the 6-1 win over Boston in Game 4, so we’re expecting similar results tomorrow. Let’s tie this series up! 😤🦬⚔️🍻

The Sabres did a lot of things well in their game 1 win over MTL, between creating high-danger chances, dominating on the forecheck, & leaning into their depth. On today's new ep, we explore what worked and what they need to prepare for ahead of game 2, plus Dahlin's Norris nom.
