I co-host the Straight Up Sabres podcast, watch a lot of movies, root for a collection of disappointing sports teams, write occasionally, and apparently use Bluesky now too.

I would gently suggest that lifting this "artificial cartel limit", which will still net Kawhi roughly $330 million from 2019-2027 despite him playing 331 games in that span so far, would directly take money out of other players' pockets. Lifting the league-wide limit is not an option & shouldn't be

i would like to gently suggest that, while the outstanding reporting stands on its own and needs no justification, "NBA punishes team owner for crime of paying worker above artificial cartel limit" is perhaps not the vindication of righteous adversarial journalism you were looking for

Pablo Torre can obviously fight his own battles, but I can't get over how many prominent people in media downplayed, refuted, and even mocked his Clippers reporting and are now just silent on the whole thing. Massive outlets ran cover for the Clippers and now just ... move on.

Joe Milton, Joey Aguilar, and Hendon Hooker all cut within 24 hours, but Josh Dobbs is the Lions primary backup and Nathan Peterman landed a job at the ACC Network. Mixed bag for my old pals from Knoxville.

Tough recent stretch of 2026 films: Super Troopers 3 - these fellas are too old, it's past them Nimrods - charming, but pretty bad aside from McKenna Grace Mile End Kicks - Insufferable End of Oak Street - great action, terrible at basically everything else Please save us, Tony and Camp Miasma

Apologies if this is covered in the article (I'm out of free reads), but I think an issue with the Obsession discourse is the insistence of there being a singular villain in a story, hence the "real villain" label. Bear is a great example of this - selfish, cowardly, morally reprehensible. But!

Since the release of the runaway hit ‘Obsession,’ there’s been a lot of hand-wringing online as to whether viewers understand that the lead female character is more victim than villain. Her addition to the lineup for Universal Studios’ Halloween theme park event has thrown more fuel on the fire.

I think what's particularly galling about this is Crockett barely even pretends to favor a particular policy or theory of politics that would explain acting how she has. Just someone who craves attention and power and doesn't understand why she isn't immediately granted both.

Sometimes I think the one thing all Democrats agree on is that Americans shouldn't vote for Democratic candidates. www.yahoo.com/news/politic...
