Breaking news: Full L.A. County City Selection Committee did not ratify pro-highway Republican Santa Clarita City Councilmember John Gibbs for the Metro board. This step is generally a rubber stamp, but today full county said "no". The matter goes back to subregion now.

Joe Linton@lintonjoe.bsky.social · 3w agoLooks like Metro has a court hearing scheduled tomorrow. Metro is seeking a preliminary injunction against Burbank - for Metro to be able to construct NoHo-Pasadena BRT. Hearing is Thurs 7/16 1:30pm at Stanley Mosk Courthouse at 111 Hill St in DTLA.
Metro June 2026 transit ridership was up +9% from June 2025. Bus up +6.8% and rail up +21.8%.

[June 2025 ridership dipped a lot due to the uptick in federal ICE terror] June25 to June26 overall ridership was up +9% - with bus at +6.8%, rail at +21.8% [credit new rail open: LAX, Pomona A Line, D Line]
