We can't believe it has already been 3 years since we announced Century of Steam, and it hadn't struck us how far our game has come in that time until now. As a sneak peek of the upcoming progress vlog, we've been able to use the savings from our optimization to afford some huge leaps in quality!

A screenshot from Century of Steam in its current state of progress, with a baldwin steam locomotive basking in the sun in a rocky cut. Lighting is vibrant, warm, and the details crisp.A screenshot of Century of Steam from our very first development video. The lighting is flatter and details less refined. I like to think we still did pretty okay back then!

Happy Pride from Studio 346! A lot of our team is LGBTQ+ and allies who support them, and Century of Steam wouldn't be possible without their dedication. Railroading is our passion & we want to provide an informative, welcoming environment for all to enjoy it. Be safe, be loved, and be you. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Rico and Dolores, the cartoon goat and deer mascots of Century of Steam, holding a banner that says "Happy Pride from Studio 346" in 8-stripe rainbow lettering above a Nevada-California-Oregon steam locomotive in a desert landscape. Rico has nonbinary flag colors on their bandana, and Dolores, a doe with antlers, has trans flag colors on hers.

We've been often asked when we'd have a locomotive of this type, and we're excited to announce that Century of Steam has received its first mallet! ...It's a Perlman :]

We have not used our old twitter accounts in ages, but we are officially closing them down for good. We seek to provide an informative, safe, & welcoming community for fans of narrow gauge railroading, but twitter's rampant AI-generated CSAM and weaponized bigotry make those goals impossible there.

The closing statement on the closed Studio 346 Twitter Page:

"Given the rampant issues of AI-generated CSAM & other hazards of this platform, Studio 346 is indefinitely halting all posting on twitter & marking it as private. We have continued to post updates to Century of Steam on our official website & our other social media site accounts.

We seek to build a community that is informative, safe, & welcoming to all who wish to learn about and enjoy the history, technology, and human stories of narrow gauge railroading, but twitter currently offers neither the stability nor the community safety to ensure those goals.

We hope you understand why we're leaving this platform and know that it has not halted our passion or progress. You can find us at the following locations & we hope to see you there:"
