related: if you want to see if someone actually wants to hang out, ask them something like "are you free today or are you still wiped out from work?" you're giving them an excuse you will definitely accept. then if they don't use it you know they actually want to see you

tip: if someone comes up to you looking upset or says "i just had the worst encounter/shift/nightmare/etc" don't ask "do you want to talk about it?" they definitely do, but the correct answer to that question is no. just ask some variation of "what happened?" -- that makes it ok to share

I’m a speaker at Develop! Tomorrow I’ll be doing a design talk about puzzle games, where I’ll analyse some classics like Portal and Outer Wilds, see what they can teach us about making our own puzzles, and make the case that the puzzle genre is alive and well. One week ago we celebrated the end of the Press Start: Games Founding Grant in Berlin. 🥳 It was very emotional seeing those lovely people one more time. We talked, we hugged, we cried (a little) and we danced a lot! 💃 It was beautiful. Now we have to finish those games. 😅 (Photos: Hanns Schmelzer)
