I’m not actually sure I believe that a school let Joshua Bonehill-Paine through the door. It would have required all sorts of risk assessments including a script and a plan for if he said something unsavoury.
Piece of land a stones throw from me had a proposal for houses. I was principled and vocal locally about not being a NIMBY. Regularly criticised the Lib Dem councillors who led the NIMBYism. It was turned down. Now they are going to build a Lidl there. I feel very snobby and NIMBYish about this.
Thought I was quite liberal and forgiving of modern pressures when considering parenting & screens. But on holiday in this hotel I’m shocked at how ubiquitous big screens are even for very very young children. All meals, during all other “entertainment”, by the pool, everywhere and all the time.
I’m on holiday in Europe and they now have Fanta Lemon in no-sugar form and this is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

My daughter has to go from stop b to stop c on the train, and then later that day from point c, through stop b, and on to stop a. Can she turn up at stop b and buy a return from stop a to stop c and use that?
The phonics threshold going down to 31, and we all shrug. What would have been the reaction if it had gone up to 33, and what does that say about our approach to this assessment?
