I meant to paint. Instead, one storage problem became a studio reset involving a stubbornly glued bin, alcohol, Goo Gone, and a windowsill I may not have cleaned in years. Then I painted. Making room turned into making art again. suekearney.com/making-art-again/

Making room turned into making art again - Sue Kearney | Maven. Artisan. Content shaper.

Making art again started with one stubborn storage problem, a full studio reset, and three paintings now ready to find homes.

I did researched, asked questions, got a note from my primary, and still wasn’t heard. The system expected me to complete the prep. I expected someone to read my note. New field note post up now: I asked for collab. I got same old, same old. suekearney.com/colonoscopy-prep-collaboration-fail/

I asked for collaboration. I got same old, same old.

I did the research, asked for a gentler colonoscopy prep, and brought my concerns to the appointment. Fourteen years of gut history became one word.

A free discovery call asks you to decide whether I’m worth hiring before you’ve experienced much of what I actually do. That’s why my first call is now a paid working session. The first call is the work. suekearney.com/why-i-stoppe...

Why I stopped offering free discovery calls - Sue Kearney | Maven. Artisan. Content shaper.

Why I replaced free discovery calls with a paid Maven Marketing Session that delivers clarity, direction, and actionable next steps.

Logo/brand designers: how do you help clients evaluate logo options? I show the concepts in grayscale — I’ve learned that color changes the assessment. Two phases: Concept THEN colors. So much better, clearer. What other tricks of the trade help you guide clients through branding decisions?

I just listened to Ben Crump tell us that Nolan Wells’ (say his name) throat & hyoid bone weren’t shipped to the independent 2nd autopsy. Plus (you’ll be surprised 🙄) the body wasn’t preserved well enough to prevent a whole lotta decomp. Accidental death, you say, Mississippi? FUUUUUUUCK THAT.

The Before happened. The After didn’t. Instead, late July handed me giant mullein leaves, old knitting tools, seven hours of problem-solving, and a reminder that my creative life doesn’t move in a straight line. suekearney.com/the-painting...

The After painting is still waiting - Sue Kearney | Maven. Artisan. Content shaper.

I planned to remake a failed painting. Instead, late July, giant mullein leaves, old knitting tools, and my creative life took over.

Server-side. Client-side. Who knew? Light bulb moment. Today, I asked ChatGPT to help me suss out why my spam filter is no longer keeping Omaha Steaks and its ilk from reaching my inbox. 1/2

I’ve been practicing tai chi for nearly 52 years, and lately I keep circling this: what can aging bodies teach when the form stops looking picture perfect (if mine ever did)? Root is root, at any age. The practice is way more than how it appears. suekearney.com/when-tai-chi...

When tai chi stops looking picture perfect — if mine ever did - Sue Kearney | Maven. Artisan. Content shaper.

Aging bodies can help us uncover, embody, and pass on tai chi principles, even when the form no longer looks picture perfect.

I just heard a statistic that I could believe. (and of course I haven’t researched this so…) Every single country in the World Cup this year has universal healthcare except guess which country? Yep, America. That’s disgustingly appalling.

I don’t like bird netting. I couldn’t find pinwheels at the dollar tree or anywhere else. But I do have CDs in my stash (a gift from a fellow artist who thought I might use them for pouring paint.) Let’s see if this keeps the birds away from my berries. #makingitupasigoalong
