i understand and respect most critiques from homeric scholars on nolan’s odyssey but in my opinion, most are approaching the film from their perspective of transcription/translation — not adaptation, which is something none of them have experience in.

half man barely getting any emmy nominations is the definition of homophobia—not even in a self-deprecating millennial ironic way. in a genuine hollywood hates gay men kind of way

watched every episode of #halfman. i think it’s too late to write a full review on it, but it was a great limited series. that being said the last episode is my least favorite. didn’t quite stick the landing

what everyone doesn’t get about me not having a license yet is: i don’t want to drive. i own a jeep. if i wanted to drive it i would get a license. I LIKE WALKING

OTHERLAND: CITY OF GOLDEN SHADOWS (1996) Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 24” x 18” A sophisticated blend of science fiction and fantasy that followed the groundbreaking epic Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams. 1/4

A shimmering cascade winds through a city of radiant domes and spires all rendered in gold. Eventually the concentrated stream dissipates as it exits lower right through an ornate gate of intersecting arches. Descending from high, an animated string of human figures, varying in sequential poses, vanishes down into a large jeweled window atop the largest dome. Across the dome's facade a nonsensical string of symbols floats (a dove, padlock, ammonite, hourglass, rowboat, starfish, etc).

not since lost seasons 1-3 has a sci-fi show gripped me like paradise. i don’t mean it’s the best, i mean it’s shifting of the status quo is just as refreshing. ala the flash sideways elements in lost s4

reading augustus by john williams and it wasn’t until 20% in that i remembered augustus was the FIRST roman emperor and that i’m reading about the fall of a democracy…ironic!

seeing people hate on star trek the incorrect way is soooo irritating. there are certainly things to criticize about nutrek but some of you don’t even get old trek so why should i give a fuck what you’re chatting about
