Today we approved a loan increase of up to $15M to jumpstart permanent supportive housing construction on the Metropolitan State Hospital campus. This is part of our plan to transform 6 long-vacant buildings into a first-of-its-kind mental health treatment and housing village.

It’s so important for our youth to get outside and try new things— like these kids from Hawaiian Gardens and Paramount who joined our Youth Golf Clinic at the Lakewood Country Club today. They really brought their A game!

My proposal to add a voting seat for a transit rider to the Metro board was APPROVED ✅ Riders have a critical perspective—they know how our policies affect people who rely on our system everyday. This is a big step toward making Metro more representative of the people we serve.

You can’t beat a summer night at the Hollywood Bowl—and tonight I partnered w/ LA Phil to bring 75 promotoras from SELA to enjoy the “Salsa Spectacular” performance and a picnic. Promotoras do incredible work, and I’m glad we could share this experience as a small token of gratitude.
