I resist the general tendency of academia to expect feminist analysis from women. It feels like a gendered sphere, separating women from all the other kinds of analysis. Also, documenting one’s disadvantage is a bummer. But if the material is such that a feminist critique is necessary, I'll do it.
I'm doing a comics course. The section in the first lecture about the terms "Graphic Novels" and "Comics" made me think about why my own comics are in book form.
I found out about midnight on Monday that I have a half-table at the Zine trading Market on Saturday. I am an excited little factory.
Kitten integration is a lot of work on everyone's parts.
I did this homework twice, the first time (left) I took most of the day and really grooved on layering and intensifying the coloured pencils, the second time I was just pretty curious about what it would be like if I took only the minimum 90 minutes.
Another 2 hours of colouring, this time the Animal Jam picture was my own work.
Party guests did the Animal Jam Making Comics by Lynda Barry so I had the raw material for the p83 Homework: Colour My Bestiary which involves colouring a single A4 with plain old crayons for 2 hours, it was really interesting. I'm looking forward to doing the other one. I listened to Beth Hart.
