So much for my plan to not drive for 10 days! My cat is sick and I had to drive him to the vet in Hammonds Plains. I will say this: I have no desire to live in the suburbs/country. I want to live on a bus route and in a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Let's build more of those.
My daughter is home and ordered food via Door Dash. I’ve never used any of these apps but apparently the delivery person just drops the food off at the door? We’re allowing tech to just push us away from developing social skills. Wtf?

Realizing the extent to which this is true wildly changed my opinions about how to deal with Trumpism, since they're never going to be satisfied unless they're actively dominating everyone else. You can't give them some concessions and go back to the status quo: they're reactionary revolutionaries.

I believe in diplomacy, but we can't bargain in any kind of faith, let alone good faith, with Trump. In the last day, he has posted AI-generated photos of himself wrestling Hulk Hogan, a map showing New Mexico renamed as New America, and who has claimed the U.S. owns the moon, and more.

I’m taking a break from my regular Sunday horseback riding lessons to work on other projects. So, I also decided to park my car for at least a week or 10 days, and get around the city by walking and using transit. I hope to write about what I learn. This is day one.

The Speaker of the Nova Scotia legislature is rescinding bans issued to 36 people last month related to a protest that interrupted a budget vote in March. Danielle Barkhouse says the decision follows conversations with the public, an NS Arts Coalition rep and “broad consensus” from MLAs.

One of the arguments I hear often from anti-bike lane people is that the streets of Halifax weren't built for cars. They are too narrow, etc. They say bike lanes will just make those streets more narrow for vehicles. I always say back, "Well, maybe there shouldn't be cars on those streets now."
