[more aimless brainchild rambling] i think allison's mutant "hair" situation behaves like thin squishy strips of kelp-y layers with microscopic "velcro" feather barbules that adhere to themselves. you can ply it apart side-to-side but also in sheets like a post-it note block...very stimmy I imagine

there's some stuff i've had planned out for brainchild since weeeeellllll before the start of the comic that I've peppered some visual and written clues about into earlier pages, although very subtly--probably TOO subtly--because I used to be paranoid about people "guessing things too early"...
