Just landed back in Spain, took off at half time. No chance of hiding from the result and watching it at home, they announced the key moments along the way then played the national anthem repeatedly 😂🇪🇸

First get-up of the year and the weather has decided to be -1, I don't think I've ever seen it so low here! I suppose at least it's not windy and rainy... and cold mornings usually mean blue skies and sunshine later 🤞🏼

Ooh I like this one! 1. We don't talk about Bruno (encanto) 2. The other side (greatest showman) 3. Life is a highway (cars) 4. Under the sea (little mermaid) 5. This is me (greatest showman) #FridayFive Hard to only choose 5!

Fascinating scenes today - a Halloween flying ant day! Scores of them, although all suicidal it appears. Happy flying ant day, or happy halloween, to all who celebrate either

So, Monday it all begins again. And I will be using a walking stick, having missed all of staff training week recovering from surgery. But I'm excited to return, not apprehensive, because my school is awesome 😊 #edusky

In #mathstoday I'm quite sad. After 5 years with a gorgeous class they had their final IGCSE Further maths exam today and apparently it was just so hard, way way harder than any past paper. They are utterly devastated, and so am I

Oversight of the school calendar isn't something any leader puts in their bio or talks about at conferences, but its impact shouldn't be underestimated and I've got a lot of satisfaction from trying to do a decent job of it. You certainly notice when it's not done well.

Procrastination can be a major threat to independent study. Despite having the desire and the strategies, many students (and adults) struggle to get started. We can help reduce this risk by pre-empting procrastination. ↓

I'm giving this a go since everyone seems to be here now! I have taught Maths and Further for 8 years in a sixth form college. I'm looking to share ideas and resources with other Maths teachers.

And so half term is over, feeling both long enough and far too short at the same time. Thankfully, it's going to be raining this week, making it much easier to not mind being at work. Until I remember 'wet breaks' (shudder)
