They have the right to speak up about this.
If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.

Online safety = PRIVACY. The UK government just admitted this when ruling not to restrict VPNs. Then why are they and other governments willing to sacrifice privacy on the altar of age verification? Could it be that online safety was never the goal?

We warned that requiring users to go through age checks or other restrictions “would undercut the security and privacy of millions, without making children safer.”

If anyone is getting smacked with this - just use deer.social or another alternate client. Bsky is just an AT Protocol Client, and your Bsky account is an AT Protocol account - you can use your same Bsky account thru another AT Protocol Client, no migration or loss necessary. Could not be easier.
