Something I realized after reading like 25 romance books this year is that, compared to other genres, romance books are like an episode of Psych. You know exactly what you're going to get and it delivers. You'll get the occasional great episode but even the bad ones still deliver.
The first Reacher book is very dated but more enjoyable in literally every single way than Interview With A Vampire was. Damn, I really hated that book.
