Yes, there is simple way to cancel the debt. As and when student loan repayment becomes due, which could be over a 30 year period, the Treasury issues an equivalent tax credit. The write-off would be around £11bn a year. Taxing capital gains at the same rate as wages raises £14bn.

And yet they don't label people kicking doors down, trying to lynch non-white people, and burn their houses as terrorists.
They should be given medals for what they did, the UK is turning into a very strange and unrecognisable place. This was a simple protest, yes charge with damage, that's appropriate, but they are not terrorists, it makes the state look stupid but also dangerous.
What this reflects is the growing power of the ultra-rich over every aspect of life. Protest is an affront to the power of wealth. So is any politics to the left of an ever-shifting "centrism". So is independent journalism. So are independent universities. One by one, they must all be shut down.
